The short version. Powur Home is the mobile app where Powur PBC homeowners track the progress of their solar project, ask Powur AI project questions, manage support, and, when eligible, use ambassador referral and payout tools. We collect information needed to keep you signed in, show your project, support app features, and help with support questions. We don't use advertising trackers, we don't sell your data, and you can request account deletion from inside or outside the app.
1. Who we are
Powur Home is a mobile application operated by Powur PBC, a Delaware public benefit corporation. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Powur," we mean Powur PBC. When it says "you," we mean the homeowner using the app to track a solar project installed by Powur or one of its partners.
Powur PBC is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. What we collect
We collect information needed to operate Powur Home and support your project. We don't use third-party advertising trackers or behavioral analytics in this app.
Information you provide
- Account information. Your email address, first and last name, and the account identifier created for you in our system. For homeowner sign-in, we use email to send you a sign-in link; we don't ask you to set or remember a homeowner-app password.
- Support messages. Anything you write to our support team in a Powur Home chat or ticket, including the subject and body of your message and any files you choose to send through a live-support interface.
- Powur AI messages. Questions you ask Powur AI, the AI responses shown back to you, and a limited recent chat history sent with your next question so the assistant can keep context.
- Ambassador and referral information. If you use ambassador features, we collect the phone number and password you provide to create ambassador credentials. The app does not store that password on your device. We also collect referral lead details you submit (such as name, email, phone, and address), referral status, reward status, and payout setup status.
- Account-deletion requests. If you tap Delete Account in the Support tab, the app opens a prefilled email to Powur Compliance containing your email, account ID, app version, and request timestamp. Your request is submitted when you send that email. Verified deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Information about your solar project
Your project data is created by Powur and our installation partners during your sales, design, and installation process. The app shows you a read-only view of it. This includes:
- The installation address and project number for your home.
- The status of each project milestone (contract, site survey, design, permitting, installation, inspection, activation).
- Project documents that have been shared with you (contracts, designs, proposals, warranty information).
- Names and contact details of the Powur consultant, project manager, and installer assigned to your project.
- System monitoring data once your system is active, such as solar production and household consumption readings.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app diagnostics. When you contact support, our customer support platform receives basic app, device, project, and monitoring details so our team can troubleshoot effectively.
- Universal-link parameters. When you tap a sign-in link from your email, the app reads the one-time token in the URL to sign you in. The token is single- use and short-lived.
Information stored on your device
- Authentication token. The app stores your sign-in token in secure device storage so you can stay signed in.
- Local app history. The app stores recent Powur AI chat history and support-ticket read state on your device so it can restore your conversation and show unread tickets correctly.
What we don't collect
Powur Home does not use advertising identifiers, social media SDKs, or third-party behavioral analytics. We do not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, location, or motion sensors.
3. How we use it
We use the information described above to:
- Sign you into your account via magic link and keep you signed in securely on your device.
- Show you your project's status, milestones, contacts, documents, and system performance.
- Answer Powur AI questions about your project context and recent chat history.
- Operate ambassador referral, reward, and payout setup features when you choose to use them.
- Respond to your support questions and tickets, and improve our support over time.
- Diagnose problems, fix bugs, and protect against fraud and abuse.
- Honor account deletion and other privacy requests.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the app, support your project, maintain required business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, no app-specific purpose requires us to retain personal information for longer than twenty-four (24) months after your account is terminated.
When there is no longer an ongoing business need to process your personal information, we delete or anonymize it. Where deletion or anonymization is not immediately possible, we isolate the information from further processing until deletion is possible.
When you request account deletion, we remove or de-identify app account data after we verify the request, normally within 30 days. We may retain records longer where required or permitted by law, such as contracts, tax records, warranty information, support history, dispute records, safety records, and compliance records relating to your solar project.
Recent Powur AI chat history is stored locally on your device for up to 50 messages and can be cleared in the app. Support-ticket read state is also stored locally, with per-ticket view records pruned after about 180 days and removed when you sign out.
6. Your choices and rights
You have the following choices in Powur Home, regardless of where you live:
- Access and correct your information. You can view your account information at any time inside the app. If anything is wrong, contact our support team from the Support tab and we'll update it.
- Delete your account. Tap Support → Delete Account. This opens a prefilled email to Powur Compliance that includes your account email and ID. After you send the email and we verify the request, we remove or de-identify app account data within 30 days, subject to the legal retention noted above. If you cannot access the app, email compliance@powur.com from the email address tied to your account and include "Powur Home account deletion request" in the subject line.
- Sign out. Tap Support → Sign Out. The authentication token stored on your device is removed immediately.
- Communicate with us privately. You can reach our privacy team directly at the contact address below.
7. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA") give you the following rights, which we honor:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Right to access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to limit our use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes outside the limited business uses permitted by the CCPA.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Powur does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no app setting to change.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the rights above.
You can exercise these rights by submitting a request from inside the app (Support → Delete Account, or Support → Live Support) or by emailing us at the address below. If we cannot verify your identity from the email and account ID associated with your request, we may ask for additional information before responding.
Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
8. Other U.S. state rights
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws may have rights similar to those described in the California section, including the right to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of, and opt out of certain processing of their personal information. We honor applicable rights through the same in-app and email channels.
9. Children's privacy
Powur Home is not directed to persons under 18, and we do not knowingly solicit data from or market to persons under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage of your authentication token in device secure storage, and access controls on our internal systems. No security measure is perfect, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately so we can revoke access.
11. International users
Powur Home is operated from the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, give you additional notice (for example, an in-app message or email). The updated policy applies from the effective date shown on the page.
